Almost half way thru d program
Its day 19.
Firstly, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MAIMEIMON!!!! sorry didnt wish u earlier, i hav no internet acces if i'm not in sch. hope u had a good birthday!
We had a long weekend. fri was practically a holiday cos of d visit to d merc museum, sat was a hike in Esslingen, we went to munich on sun n mon was a public holiday n we juz lazed at home cos we came back in d early morn fr munich.
D merc museum was awesome! it was nice fr d outside n even better on d inside. its made in a spiral manner so as we view d exhibits, we will be move down to d next lvl. it was big n pretty tiring but it was so interesting to c d 1st cars, 1st motorised bicycle, d 1st sports cars among other things. d history was really good. d day b4 dat we learnt abt d mercedes history in german class n it was cool. if u're interested in d history i can share w u another time k. d museum was good la.......
Esslingen hike was very very long. but d view fr d top of d hil was juz priceless. we could see stuttgart, d radio tower which is d first tallest radio tower in d world, we saw d endless green fields n beds n beds of yellow n violet flowers. it was juz so beautiful.... Aaaaahhhhh.....
Munich on sunday was so cold. it was raining most of d day. we went to d Deutches Museum, d biggest technological museum in d world n d queue was so dang long n we had to stand in d rain, n d entrance fee for students was pretty cheap. d mueum was 6 floors w a basement which makes it 7. it was too big to c everything in 1 day la. i went to check out d mining area n got lost on my own!!! it was dark n narrow n der is no short way out of it, i had to walk thru d whole mining exhibit. it was long n for a moment i wondered if i was ever gonna get out of d place. it is interesting for some parts, i wasnt interested in everythin but some of it were good, but unfortunately all d descriptions were in deutsch so cant really understand...
Aft d deutsches museum, we went into d town area n visited d toy n teddy museum. its a very small quaint place w teddy's from a 100 yrs old. cute. i den entered d hofbrauhaus n its a typical german place w alot of ppl, smokin, eating pork watnots n drinking beer n singing along merrily w d band dat was playing. but it was so stuffy, i left as soon as i stepped in.
D town is pretty. bigger than stuttgart n prettier...
We met up w a universität stuttgart masters student fr ntu. we wanted to c d munich Allianz Arena but will miss our return train connection if we did, so he drove us der. He rented an audi n he drove to d place w d help of d GPS but d system made us drive in circles cos it kept makin us turn right again n again. we spent more than an hour looking for d arena but we finally gave up n started driving towards d Autobahn(highway) to return to stuttgart n guess wat, guess! guess! we found d arena!!!!
It was so huge n gorgeous n huge. we cld only see it fr d nearest road tho cos other entrances were closed but it was lawa la. its like so big. we were all so awed. its such an irony dat we found it on our way home. but ah well, we found it at last!
D ride home was definitely a first experience for me. We were driving at 180 km/h! Yes i know, i'm jakun, but it was blardy laju initially but once we were cruising, it didnt feel so fast afterall. n d german drivers hav dis unwritten rule of giving way to cruising vehicles its so amazing. Didnt hav to brake or anything like dat cos if a car is comin at a higher speed fr behind (in d left lane), d vehicle infront wld immediately know to change to d right lane. N no overtaking on d right. Such discipline these germans. I think d Autobahn is ranked top 5 in d Discovery channel's Mega Structures. Its difficult to build cos d makers had to make d road tilted in a certain way so wen u're driving at 200 km/h, der'll b a natural tilt n too ensure no water gets logged in d road to prevent bumps. So interesting fr an engineer's point of view. Anyway, i'm boring u now.
Bis morgen!
